In recent months, ASPE San Diego Chapter #4 has encountered some problems related to the reservations made for the monthly dinner meetings and the resultant guarantee to the restaurant based upon that count. We are charged for meals ordered and not served regardless of whether we meet our guarantee number. Based upon this current situation and the negative effect on the Chapter Treasury, the local Board voted to institute the following revised guidelines for members and guests who make reservations for our dinner meetings.

• Reservations must be made by the preceding Friday. All reservations received after that deadline will receive Chef’s Choice.
• The Program Chair will be the only person contacting the Butcher Shop to provide the initial guarantee number and any revisions to that figure on the following Monday. The telephone call with that information shall be confirmed by email with a cc to the Treasurer and to the Telephone Committee Chair.
• Cancellations must be received by the Telephone Committee Chair, either by telephone or email, prior to NOON on the preceding Monday.
• Late reservations and walk-ins will receive Chef’s Choice. Those individuals will ONLY be given Chef’s Choice tickets. The Chef’s Choice will consist of any meals ordered by reservation but not scheduled to be served because of cancellations or No Shows, and additional meals required, principally due to walk-ins. Distribution of the Chef’s Choice dinners will be solely at the discretion of the restaurant. Preference for a choice of available Chef’s Choice will be handled on a first-come, first-served basis.
• The Registration Desk will inform the restaurant of the projected count based upon changes to the reservation list and walk-ins that evening.
• Members and guests making reservations and failing to cancel by the Monday NOON deadline will be invoiced by the Treasurer.

The schedule for deadlines will be adjusted to accommodate any special San Diego Chapter #4 dinner meetings occurring on other dates.
